Day 10: Mon, Oct 24 -- Aswan

Synopsis

We arrived into Aswan this morning. We were free to do whatever we wanted, so we wondered around the market for a little while, then after a huge lunch, we visited the site of a giant obelisk that was abandoned shortly before completion due to a crack in the rock. During the same excursion, we visited the low and high dam, which control the flow of the Nile and produce a large portion of Egypt’s power needs. That night we visited the Temple of Philea for a somewhat cheesy sound and light show, although the temple looked spectacular.
