Day 3: Mon, Oct 17 -- Nafplio and Mycene
Synopsis
Jason checked in to the conference and found out that poster set up had been delayed to that night. Before the first session, in the afternoon, we decided to drive to Nafplio, where we visited a 17th century fortress, situated high on a cliff-top by the sea. On the way back we stopped at Tiryns, which was closed, and at the more extensive ancient city of Mycenae. The city of Mycenae is one of the first great examples of civilization in Greece, dating back to the third millennium BC. We then headed back for the afternoon conference session and the welcome cocktail that evening.
